Snake Identifier: what snake is it?
Photograph a snake from a safe distance, or pick a photo from your library. Snake Identifier uses AI to suggest the most likely species, says how sure it is, and describes what the animal looks like and where it lives. It is a guide, not a guarantee.
Species suggestion
The most likely species for your photo, with a confidence score and the features in the photo that point to it.
Where the photo was taken
The town and country of the photo, from its location or your approximate location if you allow it, help the app favour snakes that live there.
Safety first
Every result comes with a reminder: keep your distance, never handle a snake because of a result, and call emergency services after a bite.
Your history
Past identifications are saved with their photos on your phone, so you can look back at them.
How it works
- Take a photo of the snake from a safe distance, or pick one from your library. The head and the pattern help most.
- The photo is sent to an AI model, together with the town and country where it was taken. The app shows the likely species and how confident it is.
- Your result is saved in your history on your phone.
Good to know
AI identification can be wrong. Never touch or handle a snake because of a result. If someone is bitten, call emergency services right away.
