JewelID

Know what is in your jewelry box.

Photograph a ring, necklace, bracelet, brooch or watch, and the stamp inside the band. JewelID tells you the likely metal and purity, the stones, the style and era, what the hallmarks mean and an estimated value range.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play

Metal and purity

Gold, silver, platinum or plated, with the karat or fineness when a stamp shows it.

Hallmarks and stamps

Photograph the inside of the band or the clasp. The app reads 925, 585, 750, 14K, GF and maker's marks and explains them.

Stones and style

The likely gemstones, cut and setting, and the period the design comes from.

Your jewelry box

Save every piece with its photos and estimate, and keep a running total for insurance or resale.

How it works

  1. Take a photo of the piece of jewelry, or pick one from your library. Add a close-up of any mark or stamp.
  2. The app reads the photos and returns what it most likely is, with the reasons it gave for that answer.
  3. Save the result to your collection and see the estimated value of everything you own in one place.

Good to know

Identifications of metals, stones and hallmarks, and value ranges, are estimates generated by an AI model from your photos. A photo cannot test metal purity or tell a natural stone from a lab-grown or imitation one. They are not a professional appraisal, a gemological report or an offer to buy, and they can be wrong. Before you buy, sell or insure a piece, have it tested by a jeweler or a certified gemologist.
